• the time it takes for a person to cross the gap varies per family member
• only 1 or 2 may cross at a given turn
• the time it takes to cross will depend on the slower person
• the lamp lasts only for 30 seconds

• stick [1 sec]
• stout [3 secs]
• mom [6 secs]
• fatso [8 secs]
