last weekend i was able to get back to my roots (well, not really but this was where i spent most of my teenage life)... roaming the streets of sampaloc!


i don't have an excuse why i don't visit that often... but it was really nice to see the places, landmarks and how it changed over the course of a couple of years. sure brings back a lot of great memories.

to start it off we went to my kumpare's house so i could do some pc work and visit the kids. this was the first time i saw bunso, and she's a real charmer. kip, was as hyper as usual.


then, we decided to drop by padus' place. it has been ages since we last heard from him. and as what happens most of the time, he was not home. but we were persistent so we waited it out. when he arrived, oblivious still, he just passed right between us and it was a good 5 seconds before he realized who we were. after some catching up, he formally introduced us to his new family (wife and daughter) before asking permission from the wife if we could drag her husband out for the rest of the night. she graciously obliged and padus had no choice at this point but obey. hahaha.


first order of business... pares! i have been craving for this for a looooong time, and since we were at the unofficial pares capital of manila, i had to get me some at the best and nearest pares place, the one in retiro. i made my chili sawsawan, poured the free soup over the bowl of fried rice (plus extra rice of course) and savored every scoop from my overflowing spoon! yummeh. sixty pesos of pure pleasure. hahaha.


then we went back to kumpare's house to finish with setting up the pc's and to get the cuestick. this being a blast from the past, we had to pull an overnighter at the billiards hall. so where else but one of our favorite places to hang out during our highschool days where we had little cash but a lot of time to burn... cheap houlry rate, cheap beer, cheap pulutan, open 24 hours. our kinda place... rommels!

we arrived at around 11pm and finished when we saw our cue, sunrise.

i could get used to this... next up, a visit to the old campus! i have to butter up their wives first so i could get them a may-i-go-out-with-my-friends slip.

...my first digicam was a vivitar 3 megapixel (but shoots like a 1MP) from my much loved daddy-o, now i have an olympus 6MP. it aint the sick ass one that i want but heck, i looked it up and it seems like a decent point-and-shooter.

as expected, i mostly ended up taking numerous shots of either myself or various household objects.

i need to plan a trip or something so i can let this baby rip... gimme a couple of years, hah!
