davao: day 1

This is the farthest I have been in the country... Mindanao baby!

Woohoo!!!

Timing was perfect, two days before the flight, the MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front) rebels decided to have a standoff with the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) at the main highway. It was all over the news, and they were at it for days. So naturally, I had to talk my way into convincing my mom that we'd be safe and she had nothing to worry about.
