On to day 2...
I forgot to mention, it is prohibited here to smoke in public places! dammit.
Good morning! I'm not a morning person so I had to brighten up my mood with the pretty girly stuff. Coffee, yosi, and flowers... breakfast of champions!
We went to Lapanday Foods hence the pose. The drum is an authentic Lapanday drum. heheh. Parang field trip lang.
Waterfront Insular Hotel, from here you get to see Samal island on the other side. Props to the mutt for chasing a bird all over the coast... he soon realized flight was an unfair advantage so he just went over to catch his breath.
pic on the right: classic example of a timer shot gone wrong.
sign, fire hydrant, trash bin.
somehow I feel this doesn't belong on a museum... or does it? hehe.
Let go on three. One..two...
We then went to the town proper... foodtrip!
This was where the "rule of five" originated. Almost everything here costs 5 pesos. Shown above is a variant of puto that has a cassava-like taste to it.
Fresh buko juice: 5 pesos.
Ube turon: 5 pesos.
Congratulations for passing the board! (You might just be my distant relative)
Mimi's "new friend", Davao chapter. hehe.
At last!
Nag shopping si TJ for board shorts, he demands the one on the mannequin.
This is Matina Shrine, sorry walang picture yung shrine at yung chapel. hehe.
Catalina Garden (Entrance Fee: 5 pesos)
Overlooking Cotabato (according to Ria) and dito naubos batt ko kaya wala ko pics ng dinner sa Jack's Ridge, their version of Gerry's Grill Tagaytay only non-smoking and cheaper. Plus the comfort room had an outdoorsy feel, it had a huge opening to the cliff so you can do some sightseeing while you pee. Around here are plenty of viewing decks and lovers spots where they could cuddle and stuff. Then, coffee tambay sa BluGre, a local coffeshop (TJTalk: blooger, silent "L") sa may NCCC where we dared to drink "tagay" style their very own Durian frapuccino complemented by Durian cheesecake. It was weird being in a place where there were no Starbucks or any other big foreign coffee joint on every marketable corner possible. Afterwards, nomnom session sa Victoria Plaza.
Mimi, penge copy.
Dito rin namin na-pansin na national anthem dito sa Davao yung song ni Jason Mraz na I'm Yours... parang mandatory sa lahat ng live bands na tugtugin yun.
